Introduction


FormsAssurity is a secure web based forms creator using encryption and digital signing of web forms and their attachments to achieve full end-to-end security without any of the weaknesses of SSL based methods.  Using FormsAssurity, personal information entered in an online form is kept private in transit and storage and information received can be linked to a specific customer.  Web form attachments (documents, images, etc.) are also securely protected.

FormsAssurity lets you specify whether user's must digitally sign a web form or document.  Users, for example, may be requested to digitally sign a form to say they acknowledge that the information they have entered is true to their knowledge or that they agree to the wording of a document.


The user interface

To the person receiving the form, a FormsAssurity form appears and acts just like any other form.  A small applet is downloaded on their computer when the form is loaded in the browser, and automatic integrity checking is performed on each form so the user will be warned if it has been tampered with by an attacker. Encryption of the information they enter takes place in the background without any need for them to become involved.  If digital signing of web forms has been requested then the user will be asked for the location of their private key and its password.

Once forms are secured they can either be emailed back or sent by HTTP, whichever is better for your business process, according to the settings you make when you create the form.  These can then be processed either on or offline manually using FileAssurity OpenPGP, our free reader software, or any OpenPGP compliant application, or automatically using our optional decryption scripts solution or your own solution.

Secure forms can be created from scratch using FormsAssurity’s online secure web form designer or existing HTML forms can be imported into the editor and converted into a secure form.
