Generating Secure Forms online - Form Designer

Each object has a set of properties and values associated with it and these are shown on the bottom left-hand side of the display area.

Name
The name you want assigned to this item.  When a form is submitted by the user, this name is used as the field label.

Width
This is the width of the object.  This value can be adjusted here (if you require an exact size) or the object can be resized using the mouse.

Height
This is the width of the object.  This value can be adjusted here (if you require an exact size) or the object can be resized using the mouse.

X
This is where the object is horizontally positioned on the page. This value can be adjusted here (if you require an exact position) or the object can be positioned using the mouse.

Y
This is where the object is vertically positioned on the page. This value can be adjusted here (if you require an exact position) or the object can be positioned using the mouse.

Text
This is the text that is initially displayed in the object.

Items
Left clicking in the Value field and selecting the  button will bring up a list editor dialog box where you can add a collection of items.

The text you enter in the DisplayName field will be displayed to the user. The text you enter in the Value field is for your own purposes - it is used as the field label when the user presses the submit button on the form.

Default Item
This is the item that is selected for the initial state of the object. For example if you have a radio button box you may want the third radio button selected by default when the secure form is loaded. If you do not want to have an object selected by default then leave this setting at [None].

Font
Here you can change the font type, size and style for each object. If the font you have chosen does not exist on the users computer then a default font will be used.

Required
Set this value to either True (required) or False (not required) depending on whether users must fill in a particular field or select a value (e.g. a pull-down list box option) before submitting the form.

Error Message
This is only displayed if you have set the Required value to 'true'. Here you can enter the message that will be displayed if the user does not enter information or select a value for this field.

Note : The ‘Text’, ‘Items’, ‘Height’ and 'Default Item' properties are not available for all objects. They are context sensitive and will only appear if relevant to the object you have selected.
