ENCRYPT FILES, FOLDERS AND DOCUMENTS
By encrypting files you ensure that only those people you choose can view them. FileAssurity uses AES, the strongest US government approved algorithm to encrypt your files. For compatibility with older PGP products that do not support this algorithm, FileAssurity uses TDES. You can encrypt files for specific individuals, multiple users or for groups. 
DIGITALLY SIGN FILES AND DOCUMENTS
Files can be digitally signed to prevent them being altered without your knowledge, and to allow others to verify that you created them. Any attempt to alter signed files is detected automatically and the user is notified.
SECURE EMAIL
FileAssurity lets you protect and send secure message text and attachments in one simple process. Your default e-mail client is automatically opened with the secure file(s) attached, the secure message text inserted into the message body and the email addresses already filled in - all you have to do is type in a subject and press send. You can send secure e-mail text and attachments regardless of the e-mail client you, or your recipients, are using. The sender and receiver don't have to use the same products or versions.
SECURE ARCHIVES
Multiple files can be protected and stored in a single archive file (.zip file). The archive file can be opened using any ZIP compatible application and the protected files decrypted using our free reader software, FileAssurity or any other OpenPGP compatible application.
SECURE TEXT EDITOR
FileAssurity's secure text editor lets you encrypt and digitally sign text for insertion into any application. Protected text is automatically copied to the clipboard for you and / or inserted into your email application.
SECURE FILE DELETION
FileAssurity ensures your files are completely removed in one easy step using methods that meet and exceed the US Government DOD 5220.22-M standards. Additional security measures ensure your files cannot be recovered even by dedicated file recovery programs.
KEY MANAGER
FileAssurity does not require you to buy certificates and keys from a Certificate Authority (although you can do that if you prefer). Its built-in key manager lets you generate self-signed keys and certificates which you can distribute to others. Alternatively, you can import keys from any Certificate Authority (CA) or OpenPGP application. See formats supported.
It's unique Trusted Authorities system automatically validates imported certificates without you having to import root keys. You can backup and restore your keys, change your keystore password, import, export and generate keys and more all from one simple to use .
SIMPLE TO USE
Encrypt, sign, decrypt, verify, securely delete and email single or multiple files and folders in a single click straight from Windows Explorer. Highlight your files, select 'Protect' from FileAssurity's menu, choose who you want to encrypt them for, whether you want to sign them, email, and archive them and press the button - your files are now protected.
You can specify default settings - where you want to save files to, etc., manage your keys and create secure text all at the press of a button. Key import and export wizards, quick key import and export, allocating users into groups for easier encryption management, and automatic product updates ensure a powerful yet easy to use product.
FREE READER (DECRYPTION & VERIFICATION OF FILES)
Other people do not have to purchase FileAssurity in order to verify and decrypt files you send them – they can do this for FREE by downloading our free reader software.
APPLICATION INDEPENDENT
FileAssurity has been designed to be independent of applications for two reasons. The first is that can never be exposed to the security weaknesses of those applications - plug-ins can be no better than 'hacks'. The second is that it will work regardless of the applications you use. You have no integration problems and no update incompatibilities.

(word processing document, spreadsheet, etc.).
